Scop Information Communication, a network security company, participated in the Apartment Building Management Industry Expo 2026 that opened on Tuesday at KINTEX in Ilsan and showcased its multi-family housing home network security solution, IPScan HomeGuard.

Through the exhibition, Scop Information Communication pointed to structural problems that have continued to be raised in the field since a law mandating network separation between households took effect, and introduced HomeGuard as an alternative that can fundamentally address them.

The government mandated network separation between households to strengthen security in multi-family housing after wall-pad hacking incidents, the company said. But in the field, there were many cases of applying existing network security equipment designed for corporate environments directly to apartment home networks. This has led to ongoing complaints including excessive installation costs, complex operating structures, maintenance burdens and limits on expansion as the number of households increases.

To address these limits, Scop Information Communication developed IPScan HomeGuard, a dedicated security solution optimized for apartment home network environments. HomeGuard can logically separate networks between households by installing equipment in the communications equipment room (MDF room) within a complex. It also supports applying security policies without separate construction work inside individual households.

It can be applied to both newly built and existing apartments. Choi Cheol-ho (최철호), a vice president at Scop Information Communication, said, "HomeGuard is not a product that simply repurposes corporate security technology, but a solution designed from the start with the operating environment and management realities of multi-family housing in mind." He said, "We will continue to expand supply not only to new apartment sites but also to existing apartment complexes, and we will establish security standards for multi-family housing home networks."
