CJ CheilJedang said on Feb. 5 it will relaunch the "Spam Gold Bar Edition" on limited-edition trading platform Kream.
Spam Gold Bar Edition is a product that packs Spam with a gold-colored label inside a paper box designed to resemble a gold bar. Products released on Kream include a randomly enclosed golden ticket that allows the recipient to receive 3.75 grams of gold.
CJ CheilJedang entered Kream for the first time in the domestic food industry during last year’s Chuseok holiday and released 1,000 units of Spam Gold Bar Edition in a limited quantity, and the product sold out in a day. The company said it believed the differentiated purchase experience and collectible value targeting MZ generation consumers who are enthusiastic about limited-edition culture proved effective.
The company said the relaunch quantity is larger than last year’s and the number of lucky golden ticket winners has increased to 30. Spam Gold Bar Edition will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis on Kream from 11 a.m. on Feb. 5.
