LG Uplus said in a regulatory filing on Feb. 5 it posted 2025 revenue of 15.45 trillion won and operating profit of 892.1 billion won on a consolidated basis.

Revenue rose 5.7 percent from a year earlier and operating profit increased 3.4 percent. LG Uplus cited improved profitability from an increase in high-value subscriber lines and strengthened growth in its artificial intelligence data center (AIDC) business through entry into design, build and operate (DBO) projects.

Net profit rose 61.9 percent from a year earlier to 509.2 billion won, reflecting a base effect from asset impairment losses at subsidiary LG HelloVision in 2024. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITD) rose 1.8 percent to 3.59 trillion won.

Mobile revenue rises 3.7 percent; wireless subscriptions top 30 million

In 2025, revenue from the mobile segment rose 3.7 percent from a year earlier to 6.67 trillion won, driven by an increase in subscriber lines and improved customer satisfaction. Mobile service revenue excluding interconnection revenue grew 4.1 percent to 6.37 trillion won.

Total wireless subscriber lines, combining mobile network operator (MNO) and mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) services, rose 7.7 percent from a year earlier to 30.711 million, surpassing 30 million lines for the first time. Net additions in total subscriber lines were 2.196 million. MVNO lines rose 10.5 percent to 9.005 million, marking seven straight years of double-digit growth since 2019.

MNO subscriber lines rose 6.6 percent from a year earlier to 21.706 million last year. 5G handset subscriber lines increased 17.1 percent to 9.314 million. The share of 5G handset subscriber lines rose to 83.1 percent, up 10.4 percentage points from 72.7 percent in 2024. The MNO churn rate in the fourth quarter was 1.00 percent, an improvement of 0.06 percentage points from the same period a year earlier.

Total MVNO lines rose 10.5 percent to 9.005 million from 8.147 million in 2024. As of the fourth quarter of 2025, average revenue per user (ARPU) for MNO services, excluding IoT and MVNO lines, rose 1.8 percent to 35,999 won from 35,356 won in 2024.

AIDC revenue rises 18.4 percent; enterprise infrastructure revenue at 1.81 trillion won

Revenue from the smart home segment, comprising IPTV and high-speed internet, rose 3.3 percent from a year earlier to 2.59 trillion won. Internet revenue increased 7.3 percent to 1.22 trillion won, and subscriber lines rose 4.2 percent to 5.578 million. The share of gigabit internet subscriber lines rose to 32.6 percent, up 4.8 percentage points in a year.

The IPTV business recorded revenue of 1.33 trillion won, similar to 2024, as it continued to attract subscribers despite a difficult external environment including an increase in OTT users and a decline in VOD revenue. Total IPTV subscriber lines rose 2.9 percent to 5.739 million from 5.576 million in 2024.

Revenue from the enterprise infrastructure segment, including AIDC, solutions and enterprise lines, rose 6 percent to 1.81 trillion won. AIDC revenue rose 18.4 percent to 422.0 billion won, supported by its own data centres and entry into new DBO projects.

The solutions segment, including AI contact centres, smart mobility, network solutions and relay messaging, posted revenue of 550.3 billion won, up 4.5 percent from 2024, backed by higher network construction revenue. Revenue from the enterprise lines business also rose 1.6 percent to 835.5 billion won on higher demand for lines.

Yeo Myeong-hee (여명희), chief financial officer and chief risk officer at LG Uplus, said, "In 2026, we will improve our structure centred on profitability and strengthen the fundamental competitiveness of our telecommunications business." She said, "We will expand resource investment in future growth and strengthening fundamentals, and realise sustainable growth and enhanced shareholder value."
