[Digital Today reporter Lee Ji-young] Hana Bank said on Jan. 1 it visited Dorasan Observatory at the Army’s 1st Infantry Division in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, to mark the new year in 2026.
The event was arranged for Hana Bank, which will take on the role of the new operator of the Nara Sarang Card from 2026, to express gratitude to service members dedicated to defending South Korea.
On the day, Hana Bank CEO Lee Ho-sung and about 100 headquarters employees watched the first sunrise of the new year with officials from the Army’s 1st Infantry Division.
They also had a New Year tteokguk breakfast with military officials at the division’s dining facility and delivered a consolation donation for the unit’s development.
The New Year military visit events were carried out nationwide. Hana Bank’s regional business headquarters visited a total of 9 military units under their respective jurisdictions in regions including Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Yeongnam and Honam, along with the 1st Division, and pledged to support service members’ welfare and growth through financial services.
Hana Bank plans to continue developing and launching military-tailored financial products to help the Hana Nara Sarang Card take root, and to expand various military cooperation programs to enhance service members’ welfare.
Lee said, “We will provide value and benefits beyond finance through the Hana Nara Sarang Card, backed by our company-wide capabilities, for service members who serve the country.” He added, “As a partner that grows with the military, Hana Bank will spare no effort and support in becoming a lifelong financial partner that people can trust and turn to.”
