Database company TmaxTibero (Tibero) said on Tuesday it signed a distribution agreement with systems integration and IT infrastructure solutions firm KL Information Communications, targeting the enterprise and SMB market.

Through the cooperation, the two companies will move to expand the use of a domestic DBMS in the private-sector market, where reliance on foreign software is high.

They will highlight lower licensing and maintenance costs compared with foreign DBMS products and stress that risks stemming from frequent policy changes can be minimised. They will also strengthen their migration strategy.

Using the Tibero automated migration tool T-UP as the basis for Easy Migration, the companies plan to reduce the burden of switching from existing foreign DBMS environments. They aim to secure both stability and speed of transition, focusing on scenarios that move systems built on major foreign DBMS products to Tibero DB.
