Krafton said on Tuesday that PUBG: Battlegrounds will launch collaboration merchandise made with Kakao Friends.

The collaboration was planned as a lifestyle project in which Battlegrounds and Kakao Friends’ flagship characters meet to link their different fan bases. It features designs that apply Battlegrounds’ distinctive universe and symbolic elements to Kakao Friends characters to feel familiar to both game fans and character fans.

The merchandise lineup consists of 12 items. Kakao Friends characters such as Chunsik and Ryan are reinterpreted wearing or using signature Battlegrounds items including a Level 3 helmet, a frying pan and a parachute. The lineup focuses on practical items for everyday use, including medium-sized plush toys, keyring dolls, LED figures, mugs, dusters and car air-vent figures.

The merchandise will be sold through integrated online and offline channels. Offline sales will be available at PUBG Seongsu as well as Kakao Friends directly operated stores nationwide, agencies and duty-free shops. The Kakao Friends Hongdae flagship store is set to be decorated with visual merchandising themed around the collaboration. Online sales are set to be offered through major commerce channels including the Kakao Friends online store, KakaoTalk Gifts and Musinsa.

Promotions to mark the launch will also be held. The official Battlegrounds community plans to sequentially run events including one to verify the collaboration merchandise or an offline store, and another inviting comments in a three-line acrostic poem under the theme of “Chunsik or Ryan who met PUBG.”
