[DigitalToday reporter Jin-ho Lee] LG Uplus said on Feb. 3 it will join the National Police Agency’s “VOICE WANTED” campaign.
VOICE WANTED is a public tip-off campaign in which the National Police Agency collects voice recordings of voice phishing suspects, identifies criminals through voiceprint analysis and uses the data to help prevent 피해. People who want to submit a tip can record a suspected voice phishing call and file it on the website of the National Police Agency’s Integrated Response Team for Telecommunications and Financial Fraud.
LG Uplus joined the campaign to actively promote voice phishing prevention activities in customers’ daily lives. Customers can check details of the campaign and how to submit tips through the Plus menu on LG Uplus’ official U+one app. Customers using the free AI calling app “Ixio” can join the campaign more easily because calls are automatically recorded without setting a separate recording function.
Voice data of voice phishing suspects collected through the campaign will be used by the National Police Agency’s Integrated Response Team for Telecommunications and Financial Fraud to analyse types of voice phishing crimes and advance investigations.
LG Uplus will also run a “Got You, Voice” event to encourage participation alongside campaign guidance. Customers who submit tips will be entered into a draw for prizes including Bose QC headphones, a Lexon lighting lamp, a white porcelain moon jar and potpourri, and a 1,000-won Naver Pay voucher.
“We will continue to work closely with the National Police Agency to deliver differentiated customer value that only LG Uplus can provide,” said Won-gi Kim (김원기), head of LG Uplus’ Digital CX Tribe.
