AI chip startup Rebellion said on Monday it signed a business agreement with patent AI company Watt Intelligence. The two companies will jointly provide patent AI services by combining Watt Intelligence’s patent-focused LLM model with Rebellion’s AtomMax NPU-based AI infrastructure.

The companies plan to provide services that can be used immediately in practice while securely handling corporate technical documents. They said Watt Intelligence’s patent-focused AI model can be deployed on Rebellion’s infrastructure, making it possible to offer an on-premises full-stack package. The company explained that firms with high security needs can run patent-focused AI in a closed-network environment while securing high performance and safety.

The two companies built a cooperation system that runs from reviewing integration for industrial use to turning it into a commercial package. They will also support customers that have had difficulties building and operating infrastructure so they can introduce patent AI in a one-stop process. They also plan to create a domestic technology-based AI full-stack ecosystem and speed entry into the global patent AI market, including Japan.

Watt Intelligence CEO Jeong-ho Yoon (윤정호) said, "This cooperation is meaningful in that it has laid the foundation for patent AI to be operated faster, more stably and more economically in actual industrial settings." He said, "By combining it with Rebellion’s NPU infrastructure, we will expand patent AI into core corporate decision-making infrastructure and prove competitiveness in the global market as well."

Rebellion business chief Gwang-jung Kim (김광정) said, "As the spread of AI services accelerates in earnest, cost-efficiency and safety in operations are emerging as important values." He said, "Through cooperation with Watt Intelligence, we will prove the strengths of NPU-based AI infrastructure in the high value-added area of patents, and expand this across global markets based on know-how in building infrastructure optimized for the vertical AI sector."
