Samsung Electronics has expanded its foldable phone display part repair service to 160 locations nationwide. Samsung Electronics Service said on Sunday it will begin foldable phone display part repairs at its service centres in Masan, South Gyeongsang province, and Yeongju, North Gyeongsang province.
Unlike replacing the entire display, the service precisely disassembles components and replaces only the parts that need changing. Engineers use specialised equipment to carefully take apart display components, the frame and the case, then reassemble them. On average, it takes more than twice as long as replacing parts in bulk.
Samsung Electronics previously introduced foldable phone display part repairs at 13 service centres in 2024, the first in the industry. Customers can reduce repair costs by reusing usable parts.
The service also helps reduce electronic waste. The number of customers using the service in 2025 rose more than fivefold from 2024. Cumulative customer repair-cost savings from part repairs have exceeded 8 billion won.
Park Sung-je (박성제), an executive vice president and head of Samsung Electronics Service's technology team, said, "Through display part repair, we are further improving the service experience for Galaxy users." He added, "We will continue to deliver services that customers need in their daily lives."
