Snowflake Korea said on Sunday that four Koreans were selected as "Snowflake Data Superheroes" for contributing to the expansion of its artificial intelligence (AI) data cloud ecosystem.

Snowflake Data Superheroes is a programme to foster data experts and developer community leaders who help expand the company's ecosystem through activities such as community education, conference participation and content production. This year, 125 people were selected from 25 countries, and the company is increasing the number each year.

The Koreans selected this year are Jae-myeon Lee (이재면), a team leader at Nexon Korea; Ye-seong Han (한예성), a data engineer at Toss Securities; Su-beom Jeon (전수범), an AI data architect at Pulmuone; and Sun-mo Seong (성순모), an AI engineer at KT. They led innovation at their companies based on expertise in Snowflake technology.

The selection criteria for Data Superheroes are fourfold: level of participation in the Snowflake community, content creation, recognised Snowflake expertise and contributions through social media activity. Key evaluation factors include regularly sharing content across channels such as the Snowflake ecosystem and blogs, podcasts and YouTube, and leading discussions at forums, user groups and community events.

Soo-hyun Lee (이수현), a Snowflake evangelist, said, "In Korea, since 3 Data Superheroes were first selected in 2024, the number has continued to grow." Lee said, "In particular, Jae-myeon Lee, a team leader at Nexon Korea, and Ye-seong Han, a data engineer at Toss Securities, have been selected as Data Superheroes for 3 consecutive years, and Snowflake will support them so that data experts and developers can interact and enhance their expertise."
