IBK Industrial Bank of Korea said on Sunday it signed a business cooperation agreement with GS Retail on Jan. 30 for mutual cooperation and joint development.
The companies said they will pursue platform promotion, charitable donation activities and identifying mutually cooperative businesses under the agreement.
To mark the agreement, IBK will provide preferential coupons for its IBK D-day savings product to the first 50,000 people from Feb. 2 to April 30 through GS Retail’s dedicated app, Our Neighborhood GS. The coupon allows an annual interest rate of up to 8.0 percent.
The companies will donate up to 100 million won for every 10,000 customers who receive the savings coupon, up to a maximum of 500 million won, to children and teenagers from low-income households.
IBK is reviewing the introduction of a cryptocurrency payment method on its i-ONE Bank retail app. It also plans to promote service linkups such as point accumulation with GS Retail’s GS ALL membership app.
An IBK official said, "We will continue to cooperate with various industries to increase tangible benefits and strive to expand inclusive finance."
