KakaoPay said on Sunday it has released original content titled "My Blind Spot Field Report" that sincerely captures the reality of people who could be left behind amid rapid advances in digital technology.

"My Blind Spot Field Report" is a road-documentary style programme that vividly records seniors' real experiences and perceptions of difficulties using digital financial services. The video was planned to raise social attention to digital finance exclusion and highlight the need for a culture of learning technology together and encouraging one another.

Jeon Beom-seon (전범선), a musician who leads the band "Yangbandle" and is active in the humanities and social sciences, takes part as the interviewer. He meets seniors on the street, listening to candid thoughts on their day-to-day financial lives and how they view changing technology as he leads the story.

The video includes practical barriers seniors face, from vague fears about digital finance to frustration at being eager to learn but unable to find appropriate educational opportunities. It also incorporates interviews with the younger generation who want to help their parents with financial matters but have difficulty communicating because of differences in perspective, naturally highlighting a generational gap in perceptions around digital finance.

Through this, it sought to build consensus that the pace of technological development is not equal for everyone and that education and support tailored to seniors' needs are essential.

The video was produced as part of KakaoPay's flagship ESG programme, the SagakSagak Face School campaign. Since 2023, KakaoPay has been running a systematic education programme, the Senior Class, with Kakao Impact and the Senior Financial Education Council to help older people adapt to digital finance.

KakaoPay said it planned the content to convey more sincerely the core value of SagakSagak Face School that "seniors help seniors." It added it will continue efforts so that digital finance can become a warm technology that helps all users easily and comfortably enjoy the benefits of finance, rather than a barrier that excludes someone.
