Epopsoft, which operates the AI English-learning app Malhaeboka, said on Dec. 31 that cumulative global downloads have surpassed 10 million.

The company said Malhaeboka’s cumulative downloads were strongly influenced by growth in global markets.

Malhaeboka is currently available in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Spanish-speaking markets. The company said it reached No. 1 in the education category on both major app markets in Taiwan, Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store, within six months of entering the market in May this year, and has maintained that position so far.

The company stressed that paid Malhaeboka users study an average of about 35 minutes a day and learn about 45 vocabulary words a day on average. It said actual learning volume, combining all areas including grammar, listening and speaking, far exceeds that figure.

Chief Executive Woojun Kim said more encouraging than the rapid rise in global downloads is that various indicators of learning persistence are holding at the top level in the industry. He said the company will do its best to further enhance the service so users can learn English in an enjoyable way without losing their motivation.
