IT service company ITCEN ENTEC said on Feb. 2 it signed a memorandum of understanding with Yonsei University’s AI Innovation Institute.

The agreement aims to scientifically verify how policy changes and social issues affect overall systems and to build a data-based, empirical decision-making framework.

The two sides will use digital twin technology to recreate complex social environments in virtual space.

They will also conduct research to quantitatively model public opinion and the structure of discourse using vast amounts of unstructured data generated from news and social networking services (SNS).

In the process, ITCEN ENTEC will support data processing technology and an infrastructure framework built through work on national core information systems. Yonsei University plans to provide insights that can be immediately used for real decision-making by applying predictive modeling and simulation algorithms and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques that enhance the reliability of results.

Shin Jang-ho (신장호), CEO of ITCEN ENTEC, said, "We will realise the scientific development of forecasting by proactively testing and verifying future impacts with data." He added, "We will strengthen our high value-added technology service capabilities centred on AI and data to lead the implementation of an intelligent information society."
