CJ Olive Young said on Sunday it will run a promotion for Japanese customers in partnership with Don Quijote, Japan's largest variety store chain, until March 31.
Don Quijote members who verify their membership at 14 stores in major tourist shopping areas will receive a 4,000 won discount coupon and a pouch with purchases of 80,000 won or more.
Targeting China's Lunar New Year holiday, it also expanded easy-payment benefits. UnionPay users will get an immediate 10 percent discount on payments of 100,000 won or more. Alipay users will get a 15 yuan discount on purchases of 15 yuan or more. WeChat Pay offers tiered discounts by amount.
It will run a 5 percent discount event with the foreigner-only payment platform WOWPASS from Feb. 15 to Feb. 22 for payments of 100,000 won or more. Customers who book through Trip.com will get discount coupons of up to 30,000 won depending on the amount.
It also improved local purchase convenience. After starting mobile gift card sales on Klook last year, Olive Young expanded sales channels from January to Vietnam and Japan e-commerce platforms. It said this will allow foreigners planning trips to South Korea to buy vouchers before departure.
An Olive Young official said it plans to steadily improve shopping convenience for foreign tourists as a leading K-beauty platform.
