A report says Apple has pushed back the iPhone 18 launch schedule to next year. NineToFiveMac, citing Nikkei Asia, reported on Jan. 30 that Apple will unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone Fold in the second half of this year, but show the base-model iPhone 18 in the first half of next year.
Apple is preparing at least 5 new iPhone models. It plans to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max and Fold first in the second half of 2026. The base-model iPhone 18 will be released in the first half of 2027. Apple is also developing the iPhone Air, but it is reported to have no plan to launch it this year.
The schedule adjustment is analysed as being due to supply chain optimisation and marketing strategy. Apple is reported to have decided to separate release timings to optimise supply amid memory shortages and to strengthen marketing for individual models.
Apple also plans to expand regular meetings by inviting parts and materials suppliers to Apple Park to ensure supply chain continuity. Analyst Jeff Pu (제프 푸) reiterated previous expectations for the iPhone 18 series in a new report, and forecast that the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max and Fold will have 6.3-inch, 6.9-inch and 7.8-inch displays, respectively.
