[DigitalToday reporter Seulgi Son] E-Mart has brought robots into the home appliance category that general consumers can purchase.

Industry officials said on Thursday that Electromart’s Yeongdeungpo store began selling 14 robot products from that day, including humanoid robots.

A demo zone inside Electromart allows customers to see a “humanoid robot” and a “quadruped robot” that move in a human-like manner. The humanoid robot, priced at 31 million won, is the basic model of the “G1” from China’s Unitree. The robot recently drew attention at CES 2026 for boxing, and has degrees of freedom similar to humans for movements such as walking, sitting and standing.

The quadruped robot, priced at 4.76 million won, performs actions such as jumping, stretching, shaking hands and sitting. It detects the surrounding environment with attached sensors and follows the user’s voice commands.

Functional robots are also included in the sales list. The “Dasom care robot” (1.98 million won) engages in everyday conversation with older people and monitors medication and fall risks around the clock. The robot, which has also been placed at local government health centers and elsewhere, also provides dementia-prevention games and cognitive testing functions. The “Riku emotional robot,” which can interact emotionally based on facial recognition, is sold for childcare.

In addition, E-Mart also introduced AI-equipped companion robots priced from 100,000 won to 1,000,000 won.

An E-Mart official said, “We will continue to discover a range of robot products at home and abroad, present them to consumers, and lead robot market trends for the general public.”
