Korea Investment Securities said on Thursday it held its travelling investment education programme, the Hantoo Campus Tour, for college students at Chungnam National University on March 4.

The Hantoo Campus Tour is an education programme designed to help college students form sound investment concepts and build healthy investment habits.

At the Chungnam National University session, lectures were held to support hands-on investing, from stock trading techniques using Korea Investment Securities' mobile trading system to basic chart analysis and how to use open APIs for quant investing.

It also introduced various activities that allow students to experience the capital market directly and build practical capabilities, including a mock investment contest for college students and a supporters programme.

Korea Investment Securities plans to continue expanding its outreach to college students this year by visiting major universities nationwide, including Hongik University and Sogang University, in sequence.

It said it will operate job-related training programmes for students seeking employment in the financial sector and broadly support career exploration and development, as part of a policy to actively create social value by leveraging its strengths as a financial company.

Kim Seong-hwan (김성환), CEO of Korea Investment Securities, said he hopes the programme will help college students gain a correct understanding of the capital market and develop healthy investment habits. He said the company will continue to fully support young people’s financial capabilities and growth through education programmes.
