[DigitalToday reporter Oh Sang-yup] President Lee Jae-myung (이재명) said on Jan. 29 that "a stock exchange is a kind of department store" and asked, "Who would go if it has many rotten products without value and fake products?"
Lee shared on X (formerly Twitter) a report carrying the Ministry of Finance and Economy's stance that it would speed up efforts to boost trust in the KOSDAQ market by delisting weak firms, among other steps. He made the remarks in connection with that post.
Lee said the urgent task is to restore customer trust by first putting products in order and quickly introducing good new products. He stressed the need for market reform.
He also said pickpockets must be cracked down on thoroughly.
