Pearl Abyss said on Dec. 31 it donated 50 million won, through a Black Desert in-game event, in the name of Black Desert adventurers to support restoration work at overseas schools damaged by disasters.
Black Desert ran the Olvia Academy donation event from Dec. 3 to 17, allowing adventurers to take part in building a school in-game. Through the event, Black Desert adventurers participated in directly helping complete construction of the in-game school-shaped Olvia Academy.
Pearl Abyss delivered the donation to child rights NGO Good Neighbors in the name of Black Desert adventurers, gathering the sentiments of adventurers who took part in the event.
The donation is set to be used, in the name of Black Desert adventurers, to cover repair costs for a school in Indonesia's Bogor region that suffered disaster damage.
Family names of adventurers who participated in the donation will be displayed as a digital nameplate through a statue alongside the Olvia Academy content update.
Pearl Abyss has held donation events each year together with Black Desert adventurers. In October this year, it held a global sharing event with adventurers and ran a programme that delivered magic performances and gifts needed for hospital life, along with messages of support, to child patients at Seoul Asan Medical Center who are battling intractable diseases.
