The fashion and beauty market in 2025 was swept by segmented personal tastes rather than a single trend.
Musinsa's "2025 Musinsa Trend Year-End Report", released on Wednesday, showed consumer trends this year spread around keywords combining lifestyle and tastes, including runningcore, bag customising and niche perfumes.
The report analysed customer behaviour data including transactions, searches, likes and reviews generated on Musinsa Store from Jan. 1 to Dec. 12. Cumulative membership during the period topped 16 million, transaction volume totalled 83 million items and cumulative searches reached 425 million.
The most striking change this year was "running". As the runningcore trend took hold and expanded from exercise into fashion, running-shoe sales rose about 83 percent from a year earlier. Running itself became a style.
Consumers also opted for smaller and more personal choices in how they dress up. Along with the bag customising trend, spending rose on expressing individuality by using small items and accessories. In the beauty category, perfumes ranked as the most searched item, and sales of niche perfumes increased 24 percent from a year earlier.
A Musinsa official said 2025 was a year when consumers showed their tastes more clearly. The official said Musinsa would continue to use its large-scale data to quickly spot changing trends and grow together with brands on its platform.
