Woori Bank said on Dec. 31 it delivered 30 million won in donations on Dec. 29 to two welfare facilities for homeless people near Seoul Station, Mannasaem and the Seoul Station Jjokbang Counselling Centre.
Mannasaem and the Seoul Station Jjokbang Counselling Centre are welfare facilities that help homeless people and elderly people living alone become self-reliant. They provide services including free meals, housing support, job counselling, shower facilities and health and medical services.
The donations are set to be used for various welfare projects, including providing free meals and housing and daily living support for homeless people and residents of jjokbang villages.
After delivering donations to Mannasaem in 2023 and doing meal-serving volunteer work, Woori Bank has continued to carry out various social contribution efforts each year to coexist with local communities.
A Woori Bank official said, "As the year-end approaches, we are continuing to share so it can provide practical help to neighbours in need." The official added, "We will continue various social contribution activities together with local communities."
