LG Uplus said on Jan. 29 it will hold contemporary artist Kwon O-sang (권오상)'s solo exhibition, “Kwon O-sang’s Simplexity: AI, Humans and Art,” at the cultural complex “Everyday, Non-Everyday Gap by U+” in Seoul’s Gangnam district through March 31.
LG Uplus planned the exhibition to offer a new customer experience that combines technology and art in everyday spaces, reflecting the interest of the MZ generation, which is active in enjoying culture and the arts.
The exhibition’s core theme, “Simplexity,” means a combination of simplicity and complexity. It is an artistic reinterpretation of LG Uplus’ brand philosophy, “Simply.U+,” which aims to provide customers with a clear and simple experience even in a complex technological environment.
LG Uplus will introduce a docent service using its in-house AI technology, ixi-O, based on recordings of actual phone calls with the artist. Beyond simply delivering information, it helps visitors actively ask questions and find answers through AI summarisation and conversation search functions.
Kwon said, “Art that you encounter by chance in the middle of Gangnam gives a new appreciation that is different from museums you visit with a purpose.” He added, “I hope this exhibition becomes an opportunity to ask whether we were truly ‘seeing’ the people who pass by, and what we will choose in the AI era.”
The Trinity Gallery, which has curated corporate brand value through artistic language, took part as the organising partner for the exhibition.
