Arc Raiders, developed by Nexon subsidiary Embark Studios, has surpassed 14 million cumulative sales across PC and consoles.
Sensor Tower said on Jan. 29 that Arc Raiders, released on Oct. 30 last year, ranked No. 1 worldwide in combined PC and console action-genre sales over the past three months.
By platform, sales were estimated at about 7.5 million on Steam, about 3.6 million on PlayStation and about 3.5 million on Xbox. The result is seen as securing market share through the title’s own competitiveness, rather than benefiting from simple market growth, amid intense competition among new action releases.
The game also stood out in user metrics. Arc Raiders ranked second in daily active users among action games over the same period, securing a stable player base.
The response was particularly strong in Western markets. Europe accounted for 43 percent of Steam sales and North America 34 percent. On PlayStation, North America made up 69 percent and Europe 22 percent, indicating a strong fit with Western user preferences.
Arc Raiders is a PvPvE shooter that combines PvP and PvE, set in an SF world in which players fight a machine legion. Its commercial success is attributed to centering on PvE while placing PvP situationally, lowering the barrier to entry while maintaining tension.
Its marketing strategy also proved effective. Sensor Tower data showed users exposed to Arc Raiders advertising were more than 3 times as likely to be PC and console gamers as general users. The analysis said the game effectively targeted potential demand by running highly accurate ads focused on North America and Europe.
