Google is adding a wide range of Gemini AI features to the Chrome browser, TechCrunch reported on Jan. 28.
Google has placed the Gemini chatbot permanently in the browser’s right-side panel so users can get AI support while browsing the web, TechCrunch reported.
The update includes an image-generation tool called Nano Banana, a personalization feature called Personal Intelligence and an AI agent called Auto Browse. Auto Browse supports users in carrying out various tasks on the web with a single command.
Personal Intelligence links with Gmail, Google Photos and other services to provide personalised answers. Auto Browse can automate tasks including hotel searches, flight comparisons and shopping cart orders. AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the United States will be able to use the features first.
Google is accelerating efforts to build a universal assistant through AI-based browsing. This concept, presented by Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis (데미스 하사비스), aims for an AI assistant that predicts user behaviour and supports seamless work across devices.
