Shinhan Bank said on Tuesday it will issue 25 billion won worth of Ddaenggyeoyo vouchers with the Seoul city government to help expand sales at small merchants and ease residents’ dining-out costs.
The Ddaenggyeoyo vouchers will be issued from 10 a.m. on Feb. 3 in 22 districts in Seoul. The vouchers can be used only on Seoul’s public delivery app Ddaenggyeoyo and offer a 15 percent discount when purchased.
Shinhan Bank will also provide a 2,000-won discount coupon to customers who place orders of 25,000 won or more using the Ddaenggyeoyo vouchers. It will also offer a payback of 5 percent of the order amount in Ddaenggyeoyo vouchers when customers pay on Ddaenggyeoyo with the dedicated vouchers or district love vouchers, allowing discounts of up to 28 percent.
For example, for a 25,000-won payment, a 3,750-won benefit from buying the voucher at a discount, a 2,000-won Ddaenggyeoyo discount coupon and a 1,250-won payback of 5 percent apply, for total discounts of 7,000 won.
A Shinhan Bank official said the issuance of the Ddaenggyeoyo vouchers and the provision of discounts are intended to ease the burden of dining-out prices while supporting higher sales for small merchants. The official said the bank will continue to expand support that helps small merchants and local economies from the perspective of inclusive finance.
