Hana Financial Group said on Dec. 31 it delivered donations accrued through its HERO check card to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation to support children being treated for pediatric and rare cancers.

The HERO check card is structured so that Hana Card accrues 1,000 won a month as a donation when monthly spending is 50,000 won or more. About 25,000,000 won was accrued over three months from September to November 2025 based on HERO check card usage. The funds were donated in the names of Hana Financial Group, advertising model Lim Young-woong and fan club Hero Era.

The HERO check card offers a range of rewards across everyday spending categories. Key benefits include 10 percent rewards on subscription services such as Melon, YouTube and Netflix; 5 percent rewards on shopping at big-box retailers, supermarkets and department stores; and 5 percent rewards on living expenses such as telecom bills and maintenance fees. Users can earn up to 20,000 Hana Money per month in combined rewards.

A Hana Financial official said the HERO check card was designed so anyone can participate in creating social value in everyday financial activity. The official said the donation would hopefully become a small source of hope for children and families in urgent need of treatment and encouragement.
