Krafton said on Tuesday it will hold a community test for Project Zeta, which is being developed by Nirvanana Studio, and is recruiting participants.

Project Zeta is an action MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game. Three players form a team, with a total of five teams, or 15 players, competing on one battlefield for an object called “Prism”. Key elements include gameplay designed around split-second decisions and teamwork rather than aiming skill, a fast-paced play time of about 20 minutes, and “Prism play” that increases the frequency and intensity of skirmishes without laning. The game is expected to support cross-play between PC and consoles.

The community test, which begins on Feb. 4, will be held through game distribution platform Steam, with applications accepted through Project Zeta’s official pre-application page. Any gamer who enjoys the MOBA genre and strategy action games can apply.

A feature of this test is the adoption of an “open development” approach. Krafton and Nirvanana allowed gamers to freely test the game without a non-disclosure pledge and to share gameplay videos or broadcast them. The developers plan to transparently disclose test results to the community, reflect feedback and complete the game together with gamers.

Nirvanana CEO Namseok Kim (김남석) said, “This community test is a decision that reflects Nirvanana’s development philosophy of completing the game together with gamers.” He added, “We will listen closely to gamers’ voices and, based on that, create a new standard for action MOBAs together. We ask for your participation and help.”

Project Zeta aims to improve completeness starting with this community test and then target a global early access release in the second half of this year.
