KT said on Jan. 28 that Genie TV original dramas it released in 2025 recorded top-tier viewership rankings on domestic and overseas OTT platforms.

"The Good Woman Busemi," released in September last year, recorded an ENA channel high rating of 7.1 percent (Nielsen Korea, nationwide households). "UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces," released in November, saw weekly viewing on Coupang Play rise 420 percent from its first week and posted its own high rating of 5 percent.

"New Recruit" Season 3 stayed at No. 1 throughout its release period on Tving, and "Your Taste" ranked No. 1 in 23 countries globally, including South Korea, shortly after its release on Netflix. "Idol Eye," currently on air, ranked No. 2 on Netflix in South Korea on its first day of release.

KT expanded its distribution channels from April last year beyond its existing IPTV-exclusive release model to platforms including Netflix, Tving and Coupang Play.

It released a total of 7 titles in 2025, including "Riding Life," "New Recruit" Season 3, "Your Taste," "My Precious Me-Star," "The Good Woman Busemi," "UDT" and "Idol Eye." Follow-up titles are scheduled, including "Honor: Their Courtroom" in February and "Climax" in the first half.

Chaehee Kim (김채희), head of KT's media division, said it was a case that proved the effect of a well-made strategy and diversified content distribution. Kim said the company would further solidify its position in the market as a representative media business for K-content.
