[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] AI data cloud company Snowflake said on Tuesday it has launched Snowflake Energy Solution, tailored for the energy industry.
The company said Snowflake Energy Solution integrates Snowflake’s data governance capabilities, partner-developed solutions and industry-specific datasets.
It said the product supports power, utilities and oil and gas companies in connecting data dispersed across information technology (IT), the Internet of Things (IoT) and operational technology (OT).
Snowflake introduced the solution in cooperation with SAP. Energy companies can combine SAP finance and supply-chain data with field and operational data on the Snowflake platform. They can directly use insights drawn from business and operational systems to improve grid operations, asset planning and commercial performance.
Snowflake is also introducing more than 30 new partner solutions that run directly on the AI data cloud to expand customer support.
Geospatial analytics platform company CARTO provides cloud-native spatial analytics features on the Snowflake platform. Global technology company Siemens supports energy and industrial companies in analysing dispersed industrial asset data on Snowflake and using it for AI through integration of Snowflake and Siemens Industrial Edge.
Fred Cohagan (프레드 코하겐), Snowflake’s global head of energy, said: “Data is the control plane of the future energy industry, and energy companies need a trusted data foundation to use AI across the enterprise in all areas, including grid security, protection of critical assets and balancing supply and demand in volatile markets.” He added: “Snowflake supports anyone in making decisions using real-time intelligence, and through this is helping companies optimise existing assets and strengthen sustainability and shareholder value at the same time.”
