LG Display said on Jan. 28 it posted fourth-quarter revenue of 7.20 trillion won and operating profit of 168.5 billion won. Revenue fell 8 percent from a year earlier, but operating profit rose 103 percent. Compared with the previous quarter, revenue rose 4 percent while operating profit fell 61 percent.

Fourth-quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) came to 1.16 trillion won. That was down 18 percent from 1.42 trillion won in the previous quarter. It was also 11 percent lower than a year earlier.

Annual revenue last year was 25.81 trillion won and operating profit was 517.0 billion won, returning to profitability for the first time in four years. It marked an improvement of more than 1 trillion won from a 560.6 billion won operating loss in 2024.

The company said it reduced losses by about 2 trillion won in 2024 from 2023, then improved by about 1 trillion won more in 2025. It attributed the performance improvement to advancing an OLED-focused business structure, reforming its cost structure and improving operating efficiency.

OLED products accounted for 61 percent of total revenue, a record high. The share of OLED revenue rose from 32 percent in 2020 to 40 percent in 2022 and 55 percent in 2024. In 2025, it ended its large-sized LCD business, accelerating the shift to an OLED-based structure.

Annual EBITDA was 4.87 trillion won, with a margin of 19 percent. By product, the sales mix was 19 percent TV panels, 37 percent IT panels, 36 percent mobile panels and other products, and 8 percent automotive panels.

LG Display said its strategy this year is to use an artificial intelligence transition to innovate technology and cost competitiveness and build a stable profit structure. It said its small and medium-sized business will use enhanced technology and production capabilities efficiently to respond to new demand. The IT segment will cut low-profit products, continue cost-structure innovation and respond to the premium market with differentiated products.

For its large-sized business, it will expand its lineup of OLED panels for TVs and gaming to strengthen its position in the premium market. It will introduce a new OLED TV panel applying Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 technology and a 27-inch gaming OLED panel with a 720Hz ultra-high refresh rate. Its automotive business plans to maintain a competitive edge based on a differentiated product and technology portfolio.

Seong-hyun Kim (김성현), LG Display's chief financial officer, said, "In 2025, uncertainty in the external environment continued, but we were able to achieve a return to annual profitability by focusing on advancing the business structure and improving operational efficiency." He added, "This year as well, we will focus on transforming into a technology-centric company and building a sustainable profit structure to work to further expand performance."
