Anthropic has doubled the target for its new funding round to $20 billion from $10 billion, driven by enthusiasm for AI investing. If the round closes, Anthropic's valuation is expected to reach $350 billion.
TechCrunch reported on Tuesday that Anthropic raised its fundraising target on the back of demand for its AI model Claude and its coding-focused Claude Code. Sequoia Capital, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund and investment manager Coatue are expected to take part, it reported.
Anthropic was reported to have sought legal advice late last year to prepare for an IPO, and a listing could take place this year. In September last year, Anthropic raised $13 billion and was valued at $18.3 billion.
