South Korean company Edenlux is bringing its wellness device Eyeary to the U.S. market to help address vision decline linked to smartphone use.
TechCrunch reported on Jan. 27 that Edenlux will launch Eyeary through an Indiegogo campaign and pursue global expansion. The company said its first product, O2Us, posted cumulative sales of $10 million after launches in South Korea, Singapore, Japan and Taiwan in 2022. It added that the new Eyeary offers faster and more convenient usability.
Edenlux founder and CEO Seong-yong Park (박성용) developed the technology based on his experience rehabilitating his own eye muscles after suffering vision paralysis while serving as a military doctor.
The company said Eyeary has a lightweight design similar to regular eyeglasses and includes 144 focus-adjustment functions to support more precise vision recovery. It connects to a mobile app via Bluetooth and also provides customised training programmes through AI analysis.
Edenlux is also developing other wellness products, including a dry-eye treatment device Tearmore, a strabismus correction device Lux-S, a myopia prevention device Lumia and a hearing recovery device Heary.
