Naver Webtoon said on Tuesday that 'Fight Class' is being produced as a Netflix Japanese series and will be released worldwide exclusively on May 28.
'Fight Class' is an original webtoon co-created by popular Naver Webtoon writers Park Tae-joon (박태준) and Kim Jung-hyun (김정현). It follows Yoo Ho-bin, a victim of school violence, who by chance starts a broadcast punishing perpetrators, improves his fighting skills and turns his life around. Its fast-paced storyline and action have driven its popularity, with cumulative global views reaching 2.28 billion.
It has been serialized since 2020 via Line Manga, Naver Webtoon's Japanese-language service, and has surpassed 500 million cumulative views in Japan. In Japan, it was selected as a jury-recommended work in the manga category at the 25th Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival. It was also produced as a TV anime in 2024 and has a solid fandom.
The Netflix series adaptation is a collaboration between director Hideki Takeuchi and writer Yuichi Tokunaga, and features Japanese actors Oji Suzuka, Ai Mikami and Araki Sugo, among others.
Line Digital Frontier, which operates Line Manga, supports the growth of titles through various intellectual property businesses such as screen adaptations, as well as helping Korean webtoons establish themselves in Japan’s manga market.
