Storage company Synology said on Jan. 27 it has officially launched a Korea business division by separating its Korea team, previously operated under its international business unit, to speed up its push into the South Korean market.
Synology appointed Victor Wang (빅터 왕) to lead the Korea business division. Through the reorganisation, Synology plans to strengthen its support capabilities for domestic customers and partners.
The company said Synology has maintained average double-digit revenue growth in the South Korean market. In the B2B business segment, it posted notable results, including annual revenue growth of more than half, recording rapid growth.
With the launch of the Korea business division, Synology plans to establish an organisational structure for more systematic domestic business operations and to strengthen local decision-making and execution capabilities.
Victor Wang, head of the Korea business division, said, "Synology views South Korea as an important strategic market, and we plan to continue expanding the size of the Korea team while strengthening cooperation with local distribution partners to support the needs of Korean customers and long-term market growth." Wang has overseen sales in Taiwan, Southeast Asia, South Africa and the Middle East since joining Synology in 2012.
