Com2uS said on Jan. 27 it released a developer video on its official YouTube channel ahead of a collaboration between Summoners War: Sky Arena, or Summoners War, and The Lord of the Rings.
Com2uS earlier signalled an update planned for Jan. 30 through a teaser video. The developer video details the production process and behind-the-scenes story for content created by bringing together Summoners War and The Lord of the Rings, described as a 20th-century fantasy literature masterpiece.
The video shows how key Lord of the Rings characters such as Frodo, Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas and Gollum are recreated as Summoners War characters. The development team explained it used colouring that preserves a watercolour texture to create an original-illustration feel and added a sense of density unique to handwork.
The development team said, "We reinterpreted the original's iconic characters and grand universe through Summoners War's own sensibility." It added, "We hope you enjoy the feeling of exploring The Lord of the Rings' vast universe in Summoners War through this collaboration," and asked for anticipation.
