Dassault Systemes said on Jan. 27 it will work with industrial automation company Autonics to advance its PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system and build an integrated R&D information system under a latest standards framework based on R&D innovation.
Going forward, Dassault Systemes will provide a single solution to support upgrades and integrated management of the solutions Autonics currently uses. It aims to improve design quality and support more efficient quality management.
Founded in 1976, Autonics is an automation solutions company that provides comprehensive automation solutions for building smart factories, including sensors, controllers, safety and SCADA. It currently has more than 100 global network bases and supports everything from small sensors applied on site to software for data management and operating smart sites.
With the building of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Autonics plans to build a unified integrated R&D information system based on companywide digital transformation. It also plans to strengthen data consistency and collaboration efficiency across R&D.
Through the buildout of the integrated R&D information system under the latest standards framework based on R&D innovation, it plans to implement securing product information consistency, optimising product development processes, improving work efficiency, convenience and readability, improving designers’ work environments, and increasing the efficiency of managing product BOM information, to secure business competitiveness.
Through the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Dassault Systemes will support PLM upgrades based on a single platform. It will also support standardising an integrated change process, advancing the BOM framework and building a companywide 3D-based work environment.
Autonics CEO Yongjin Park (박용진) said the goal of the collaboration is to build an integrated R&D information system under the latest standards framework based on R&D innovation through the Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE platform. He said using a single integrated platform from R&D to production is expected to provide a foundation for offering customers better value by optimising product development processes through efficient system-based R&D support and innovation in work systems.
Woongsung Jung (정운성), CEO of Dassault Systemes Korea, said the Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE platform is the most compatible with the CAD software SOLIDWORKS, making it easier to advance PLM. He said it enables companywide digital transformation by achieving innovation in work systems. Jung said Dassault Systemes will continue to be a solid business partner that grows with Autonics and will actively support digital transformation in South Korea’s industrial automation industry based on extensive project experience and a differentiated strategy.
