Ably, a style commerce platform operated by Ably Corp, said on Jan. 27 that its fourth-quarter transaction value in the food category rose 80 percent from a year earlier to a record high.
In the fourth quarter, the number of orders and the number of ordering customers each rose 45 percent from a year earlier, while the number of new customers increased 33 percent. As of December, the number of merchants on the platform rose 30 percent from a year earlier. Adam Tteok Workshop and Nangman Store posted monthly transaction values of more than 100 million won.
Its monthly Dessert Popup Store served as a key driver of growth. During fourth-quarter event periods, average daily transaction value rose 38 percent from a year earlier. In December's Cake Popup Store event, average daily transaction value increased 72 percent from a year earlier.
An Ably official said the company will expand partnerships with bakeries and small business owners nationwide and offer differentiated shopping experiences such as themed promotions and live broadcasts.
