Samsung Electronics will provide a special edition foldable phone to delegations at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. Samsung Electronics on Jan. 27 unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition for athletes taking part in the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics. As an official partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Samsung Electronics will provide the device to all about 3,800 athletes from around 90 countries.

The Olympic Edition applies a design to commemorate participation in the Games. The back is finished in blue to express Olympic harmony and sportsmanship, and the frame uses a gold metal color to symbolise the medal podium moment. The blue circular magnet on the transparent magnetic case provided with the device is surrounded by a golden laurel leaf design. The wallpaper applies a 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics theme that depicts curved patterns made by skate blades on the ice.

Athletes can communicate without language barriers using an on-device AI interpreting feature powered by Galaxy AI. They can check health data such as Games operations information and sleep information through the Now Brief feature. A dual recording feature that uses the front and rear cameras at the same time lets them record themselves while filming.

Samsung Electronics will work with Olympic partners to provide various apps and services. It will support delegations with a 100GB eSIM that can use 5G data. It also preinstalls the Galaxy Athlete Card, which lets athletes exchange profile cards with others via NFC; Samsung Wallet with an in-app pass that allows free use of Coca-Cola beverage vending machines in the athletes' village; and Athlete365, which links to Now Brief to deliver competition-related news and notices in real time.

Samsung Electronics will work with the IOC to operate the first Victory Selfie programme at a Winter Olympics. Athletes will take selfies themselves on the podium at the moment they win medals. The programme was first introduced at the 2024 Paris Olympics. At this Games, it will be expanded to cover team events as well as individual events. Samsung Electronics will also newly unveil Victory Profiles shot with the Galaxy S25 Ultra that capture athletes' passion and individuality.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition will be distributed from Jan. 30 at six Olympic villages. Samsung Electronics will operate Samsung Open Stations in the villages to support device activation and data transfers.
