[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong] Samsung Electronics’ upcoming mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57, could be priced significantly higher than their predecessors. The industry expects both models to rise by about 15 to 20 percent, extending a broader uptrend in prices in the mid-range smartphone market. IT outlet PhoneArena reported the details on March 3 (local time).

According to leaked information shared on X, formerly Twitter, by IT tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore (수단슈 암보레), the Galaxy A37 is expected to launch in 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage versions. Expected prices are 439 euros ($509) and 539 euros ($625), respectively. That is about 750,000 won and 920,000 won. It is about 16 to 20 percent higher than comparable versions of the previous Galaxy A36.

The higher-end Galaxy A57 is also expected to cost more. It is likely to launch in 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage versions. Prices are discussed at 539 euros ($625) and 609 euros ($706), respectively. That is 920,000 won and 1.04 million won, about 60 to 80 euros (100,000 to 130,000 won) higher than the previous Galaxy A56.

If European pricing becomes the benchmark for launch prices, higher prices could also extend to the U.S. market. The industry estimates the Galaxy A37 could start from about $460 (670,000 won) and the Galaxy A57 from at least $570 (830,000 won). The information disclosed so far is leak-based estimates, and actual prices could differ depending on regional strategy.

The two products are expected to be unveiled in March. Competition in the mid-range smartphone market is expected to intensify after launch. They are likely to go head-to-head at similar price points with major rival models such as the iPhone 17e, Pixel 10a and Nothing Phone 4a.

The industry analyses that price increases are gradually spreading even in the mid- and low-priced smartphone market as higher parts prices, exchange-rate effects and feature upgrades combine. Attention is on whether mid-range smartphone prices will continue to move higher.
