[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Anthropic has added an interactive apps feature to Claude to let users call and use a range of external applications, TechCrunch reported on Jan. 26 local time.

With the update, Claude users can directly call various work tools such as Slack, Canva, Figma and Box. Users can send messages, generate charts and access cloud files. TechCrunch said it was built in a way similar to OpenAI’s app system and is available only to Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise subscribers.

Anthropic stressed that the apps feature could become a more powerful work automation tool when combined with Claude Cowork.

Claude Cowork is a feature that automates complex data tasks, and Anthropic is preparing to integrate the interactive apps feature with Cowork.

Anthropic recommended restricting financial documents and personal information when using apps and using dedicated work folders.
