PayPal has agreed to acquire Tel Aviv-based fintech startup Cymbio, FinTech Futures reported on Jan. 26.
The deal value was not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026. Founded in 2015, Cymbio operates a multi-channel orchestration platform that automates product sales across multiple online marketplaces, retail and social commerce channels.
It automates complex processes involved in e-commerce operations, including inventory management, order processing, billing and settlement. The company said it helps businesses efficiently integrate and operate multiple sales channels.
In October 2025, PayPal integrated Cymbio technology into its generative AI-based payment solutions Agent Ready and Store Sync. Agent Ready makes merchants' product data searchable on AI platforms, enabling payments in AI environments.
Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity have integrated the Agent Ready solution into checkout functions. It is also set to be introduced within this year to OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini app and AI Mode.
PayPal Executive Vice President Michelle Gill (미셸 길), who leads the company's small business and financial services unit, said, "By securing Cymbio's technology and talent, we have strengthened our agent commerce capabilities and can expand to more merchants." She added, "When product catalogues become searchable on AI-based platforms, sellers will be able to increase sales while consumers will have more choices."
