LG Innotek posted a 31 percent rise in fourth-quarter operating profit from a year earlier and achieved record quarterly sales. The company said on Jan. 26 that fourth-quarter 2025 revenue was 7.61 trillion won and operating profit was 324.7 billion won. Revenue rose 14.8 percent and operating profit increased 31 percent from a year earlier. Fourth-quarter revenue set an all-time quarterly high.
Peak season supply for new mobile models was the main reason for the performance increase. Supply of communications semiconductor substrates such as high-value camera modules and RF-SiP (Radio Frequency-System in Package) increased. Automotive camera, communications and lighting modules also contributed to higher revenue.
Full-year revenue was 21.90 trillion won, up 3.3 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit, however, fell 5.8 percent to 665.0 billion won. The company explained this was the result of one-off costs such as year-end performance bonuses. It added that excluding these, results from profitability-focused management are emerging.
By business segment, the Optical Solutions Business posted revenue of 6.65 trillion won, up 15.2 percent from a year earlier. Supply of high-value camera modules increased due to full-scale mass production of new mobile models in the fourth quarter. Expanded supply of automotive camera modules to North American customers also had an impact.
The Package Solutions Business recorded revenue of 489.2 billion won, up 27.6 percent from a year earlier. Supply of semiconductor substrates such as RF-SiP and FC-CSP (flip-chip chip-scale package) increased as mass production for new mobile models moved into full swing.
The Mobility Solutions Business posted revenue of 474.3 billion won, staying at a similar level to a year earlier. The company explained that while the slowdown in growth in downstream industries continued, high-value products such as vehicle communications and lighting modules continued to grow from a year earlier. It said it achieved 4.8 trillion won in new orders last year. It added that the order backlog stood at 19.2 trillion won at year-end, up 11.6 percent from a year earlier, surpassing 19 trillion won for the first time.
The company said it plans to strategically allocate company-wide resources to strengthen core business competitiveness while accelerating future growth businesses. Targets include sensing components for robots and autonomous driving LiDAR.
Kyung Eun-kook (경은국), CFO and executive vice president, said, "This year we will focus on strengthening a stable profit generation system based on a high-profit business portfolio." He added, "In line with solid demand for semiconductor substrates, the operating rate will move into full operation." He added, "We are reviewing capacity expansion measures from multiple angles."
