Hyundai AutoEver said on Jan. 26 that its mobilgene x-Studio has received certification under ISO 26262, an international standard for automotive functional safety.
The company said mobilgene x-Studio is a solution it developed in-house in 2023 that supports automation of vehicle software safety validation work.
Vehicle software validation generally uses three methods: MIL (Model-in-the-Loop), SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop). MIL is a technique that theoretically verifies the algorithm, a command system that runs software. It is mainly used in the early development stage to check whether the system operates correctly. SIL is a method to check whether actual software code runs without problems. HIL validates whether software runs without problems even when connected to hardware.
Mobilgene x-Studio automates validation in various environments including MIL, SIL and HIL. The company said it cuts working time by more than 50 percent compared with manual methods. Hyundai AutoEver stressed that the ISO 26262 certification helps it secure global-level reliability and business competitiveness for mobilgene x-Studio.
Kwon Hae-young (권해영), an executive director in charge of SDV at Hyundai AutoEver, said, "With this certification, we have secured international reliability for our validation automation tool." He said, "We will raise customer satisfaction by providing competitive services."
