Flitto, an artificial intelligence data and solutions company, said on Jan. 26 it has begun work on the “proprietary AI foundation model (Dokpamo) project” as the data lead partner for the Upstage consortium, which advanced to the second stage.
Flitto plans to establish standard processes for data building and evaluation and cooperate to create a “national representative AI model” that can be applied immediately in industrial settings.
In the project, Upstage will oversee overall model development, including architecture design, training and performance enhancement. Flitto will build the data foundation as the data lead partner that determines model training performance.
Based on its experience building global multilingual data, Flitto will integrate the full data lifecycle, including large-scale language and multimodal data collection, refinement and quality control.
Flitto CEO Jung-soo Lee (이정수) said the partnership is a meaningful example of companies that design models and build data working closely to create a true data-centric AI ecosystem. He said Flitto will contribute to developing the most Korean proprietary AI foundation model based on its advanced data building and quality management capabilities.
