CallGate, a company specialising in visual ARS and payment services, said on Monday it has provided its “visible payment” service to AhnLab Mall, the official online store of integrated security company AhnLab.
The company said the CallGate service focuses on improving payment convenience by showing a pop-up payment screen during a call using visual ARS, instead of the previous method that switched to ARS and required customers to enter card information.
Customers can complete payment during a call by choosing either NFC-based “TapPay”, which requires only holding a physical card to the back of a smartphone while speaking with an agent, or a preferred option among major simple payment services such as Naver Pay and Kakao Pay, the company said.
AhnLab Mall, which mainly sells security software and solutions, is a channel with a high share of customers who receive product guidance and place orders through phone consultations. Because the payment step after phone consultations requires an input process, the company has also been reviewing ways to provide a more intuitive payment experience in addition to the existing ARS payment method.
AhnLab said it expects that providing an optimal purchasing environment for customers buying a range of security products and solutions will help prevent customer drop-off at the payment step and raise purchase conversion rates.
Ahn Han-yeol (안한열), vice president and chief product officer at CallGate, said, “The visible payment service is a solution that can provide a convenient payment experience for both senior customers who are not familiar with payment apps and general customers who want immediate payment by omitting unnecessary steps, resolving inconvenience associated with existing phone orders.” He added, “We will continue to expand CallGate’s differentiated payment solutions to various industries seeking to improve customer purchasing experiences.”
