Samsung Electronics said on Jan. 26 it will launch the Galaxy Book6 Ultra and Galaxy Book6 Pro in South Korea. The products are equipped with Intel Core Ultra Processor Series 3, and the NPU delivers up to 50 TOPS performance.
The display supports up to 1,000 nits of HDR brightness. The company explained this is about double the previous model and maintains image quality outdoors. The Galaxy Book6 Ultra also has a total of 6 speakers, including 4 woofers and 2 tweeters. It is the first in the Galaxy Book line. The battery supports up to 30 hours of video playback, the longest among the Galaxy Book series.
The Galaxy Book6 Ultra uses fans that exhaust heat in two directions, to the rear and side. It prevents overheating and performance degradation. The Galaxy Book6 Pro includes a vapor chamber, the first for the Pro model. The Galaxy Book6 Ultra is 15.4 mm thick, and the 16-inch Galaxy Book6 Pro is 11.9 mm thick. They are 1.1 mm and 0.6 mm thinner than the previous model, respectively.
Users can search documents or images saved on the PC using natural language. The AI Select feature lets users select text or images on the touch screen to check information. It does not require entering separate search terms. The nearby device connection feature can connect a PC with a smartphone or tablet. With storage sharing, files saved on a smartphone can be used on the PC.
Samsung Electronics will provide benefits for customers who purchase from Jan. 27 to March 31. It will give a limited-edition laptop bag made in collaboration with Hunter. The Switch backpack can be purchased for 59,000 won, about a 70 percent discount from the regular price. Single units and packages of the Galaxy SmartTag2 will also be offered at special discounted prices. It will also provide a free 3-month voucher for Samsung Care Plus laptop damage coverage.
Jung Ho-jin (정호진), a vice president at Samsung Electronics' Korea unit, said, "The Galaxy Book6 series is an innovative flagship product that offers a new experience, from overwhelming performance to a refined design and convenient Galaxy AI." He said, "We recommend the Ultra model for customers focused on high-resolution video editing and gaming, and the Pro model for customers who prefer high-spec multitasking and a touch display."
