South Korea's National Information Society Agency (NIA) said on Monday it is recruiting kindergartens and primary, middle and high schools that want digital ethics education in 2026.

NIA has promoted digital ethics education with the Korea Communications Commission to strengthen the ability of all citizens, including young children, teenagers, teachers and parents, to respond to digital harm and to foster a healthy culture of digital use.

The recruitment targets schools for groups ranging from young children to teenagers, parents and teachers. Other adults, including university students and older people, as well as soldiers and office workers, will be taught through rolling recruitment after March.

This year's recruitment will cover about 1,800 schools and 100,000 people. It will provide free, tailored digital ethics education programmes by level.

Schools seeking the training can apply on the Digital Ethics website until 6 p.m. on Feb. 13.

NIA President Jong-sung Hwang (황종성) said, "I hope for a lot of interest in digital ethics education so that students can use technology through sound judgment and responsible behaviour and protect themselves from its harmful side effects."
