NH Nonghyup Bank said on Monday it launched the "NH Preferential Savings for SME Employees" product.

The preferential savings product is open to employees of small and medium-sized companies whose eligibility has been confirmed by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency.

The term is 3 years or 5 years. If customers pay in 100,000 won to as much as 500,000 won per month, the company provides additional support equal to 20 percent of the deposit amount. It also offers preferential interest of up to 2.1 percentage points.

On maturity, customers can receive a tax cut of 50 percent of the income tax imposed on the company support payment, or 90 percent for young people. Companies have the support payments recognized as expenses.

NH Nonghyup Bank CEO Kang Tae-young said, "This product will be a good example of a company and its employees growing together." He said the bank will continue to take the lead in delivering win-win finance that contributes to supporting small and medium-sized firms and stabilising employment.
