[DigitalToday reporter Daegeon Seok] LG Electronics is introducing microLED signage that improves convenience from installation to maintenance. LG Electronics said on Jan. 25 it will unveil the new LG Magnit product (model: LMPB) at ISE 2026, Europe’s largest commercial display exhibition, to be held in Barcelona, Spain, on Feb. 3.
LG Magnit is a portmanteau of “magnificent” and “nit,” a unit of brightness, and was developed for venues such as exhibition halls, large auditoriums, premium stores, broadcasters and control rooms. The new product features an “LTD (Line to Dot)” function. Commercial LED displays can have individual light sources stop working due to external factors. The LTD function responds to screen control at dot level rather than by line. By minimizing the impact to a single tiny light source, it reduces visual discontinuity for customers who watch the signage from a certain distance.
The company also improved installation convenience. It slimmed the product’s thickness and applied a technology that makes it easy to adjust level differences. Large signage is assembled by attaching multiple LED cabinets to form a screen. Technology that makes the cabinets flat like a single screen without level differences is important. Previously, installers had to work from the rear and then check again from the front. LG Magnit uses a patented technology that allows fine adjustment from the front. Installation time for large screens has been reduced.
It can be installed with the distance between cabinets and the controller set as far as 10 km. Long-distance installation using optical cable is possible. The controller can be operated from a separate space, such as a control center, without being placed near the cabinets. LG Magnit also applies a “front black coating” technology. It can express deeper blacks to maximize contrast. It also improves the color accuracy of LED elements. It reduces the impact on LED elements from moisture, dust and external shocks, improving durability as well.
Min Dong-seon (민동선), head of the ID Business Division at LG Electronics’ MS Business Division, said, “We will strengthen leadership in the commercial display market by focusing on ultra-large, ultra-high-definition technology that provides an immersive viewing experience and on installation and operational convenience.”
